Spiritual Formation

As Jesus said, “Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not.” First United Methodist Church of Miami follows this statement, but also recognizes that folks don’t stop learning when they are no longer “little children.” That is why the church has a whole range of learning and fellowship opportunities for all ages.

Beginning with the youngest children, parents are well pleased with our nursery. Found in Room 101, it is staffed with experienced personnel. It has the facilities necessary for loving care and oversight of infants. The nursery is available during the church school hour, beginning at 9:30, and during the morning service until 12 noon.

This group is friendly and informal, as they study and participate in a variety of Bible-based materials. This class prides itself on being “different”: combining study books with DVDs, occasional breakfasts at Bayside, an occasional movie, and even a visit to the beach (as Jesus did!).

Crusaders (Adult)
Sunday Mornings at 9:30am in Room 212 (Upstairs)

This class focuses its reflections on curriculum that provides deeper study of scripture. As they drink coffee/tea/hot chocolate and munch on pastry, they discuss the lesson. Past topics dealt with subjects from world religions to contemporary social issues.
