Greetings! We are delighted that you are considering holding your wedding in our church. Please take time to review the following information and fee schedule. After doing so, please contact us by phone or e-mail to continue the process of discernment for where you will hold this special day.

CEREMONY:

The ceremony will take place in our sanctuary or chapel and can include a variety of elements as deemed appropriate by the pastor and wedding coordinator. We want this day to be as special as possible for bride and groom.

PASTOR:

Our pastor will preside over all weddings unless otherwise determined by special arrangement. Any leadership roles taken by other clergy will be at the invitation of the pastor of the church where the service is held. The pastor will inform the couple of guidelines established by the congregation on such matters as decorations, photography, and audio or video recording.

RECEPTION:

FUMC of Miami is not available for wedding receptions.

WEDDING COORDINATOR:

Our wedding coordinator will help you to determine what elements you need to make your day special. She will meet with you several times in advance of the wedding as well as be present during the rehearsal and ceremony.

MUSICIAN:

The FUMC music director will be consulted first regarding any musical needs. If another musician is preferred for the ceremony, an invitation from our music director is required in consultation with the pastor.

PREMARITAL COUNSELING:

The pastor will provide 3-4 sessions of premarital counseling as well as time to discuss and plan the wedding service. This is a valuable time of learning for pastor and couple. If either person has been previously married, divorce documents must be provided at the time of request.

SPECIAL TRADITIONS:

Ethnic and cultural traditions are encouraged and may be incorporated into the service at the discretion of the pastor.

LICENSE:

All State of Florida requirements must be met. Application for the marriage license must be made in a timely manner.

WEDDING FEES: $1450.00

Includes sanctuary, wedding coordinator, pastor, organist and custodial services. A $200.00 deposit is required to hold a wedding date on the calendar.

Every person and couple is unique and so is your marriage ceremony. The church staff will work with you to tailor the services to your particular needs while remaining faithful to the principles and guidelines listed above.
