This is the theme of our Vacation Bible School this week! We have had about 30 children with us from 9:30am-2:30pm each day! As the week has moved along we have received new children from the neighborhood who have come and experienced the love of God with us!
One of the most touching parts of our time together is hearing the children memorize the Bible verse for each day! The verses given to the children are based off the theme. The memory verse for today is, “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33.
All the verses this week have focused on God being with us during trials and tribulations. The Children are learning that in tough times God hears them and is with them!
This week in worship we will be reading the Dr. Seuss Book, “Horton Hears a Who.” For almost the whole book no one but Horton could hear the who’s living on the dandelion. Yet, Horton was exactly the person who they needed listening to them. We are reminded this week in VBS and in worship that God hears us, even when we believe no one else hears us. AND the best part of that is God is exactly the one who needs to hear us and can rescue us in times of need.
This week I pray that each of us may have a deep sense of God’s presence and listening in our lives. God is with us and hears even the words only uttered in our hearts and never spoken on our lips.
May God’s presence surround you this week in your “shipwrecks” or “car wrecks” or “emotional wrecks” and may you know deep inside that you are never alone!
See you on Sunday!
